Urban Ministry

URBAN MINISTRY MISSION

To advance the kingdom of God in the Birmingham urban community by facilitating and serving indigenous leadership.
 

URBAN MINISTRY DEFINED

Any ministry in the Birmingham metropolitan area, the purpose of which is to fulfill the Great Commission by proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ through evangelism, discipleship, church planting, church revitalization and training and equipping of Christian leadership.
 

URBAN MINISTRY PLAN

This ministry intentionally partners with Christian leaders and organizations in the urban community in the following ways:
  • Church Revitalization
    Using the African American Embers to a Flame conference to equip and train pastors, and church leaders with biblical principles for church renewal and church health.
  • Church Planting
    Using the biblical model to plant churches in urban America.
  • Family Initiatives
    To assist partners whose emphasis is with long term family ministry.
  • Christian Education Initiatives
    To encourage or promote Christian education through various schools and organizations
  • Prison Ministry
    To provide a multi-faceted model of programs and services based on principles of biblical justice in order to equip churches to reach victims, offenders and their families
